Galena 2026 is inviting residents, business owners, and visitors to contribute to our Bicentennial celebration.  Fundraising will continue throughout the year for the legacy project, and money contributed by our sponsors will give us the opportunity to produce world-class events!

We want to leave something behind as a nod to the future of Galena, a "Legacy Project."  After many discussions with Galena residents and an online poll, it became clear that Recreation Park is an important part of our community and a gathering place for generations of Galenians.  While many improvements have been made, there is still outdated equipment that needs to be removed and replaced for the safety of our children.

Our legacy project will look to the future of Galena by improving the tot lot area of Recreation Park to be fully inclusive and multi-generational.  This will include an all-weather surface and interactive equipment.  The next generation of Galenians will benefit from this project for years to come.
