Galena 2026 is inviting residents, business owners, and visitors to contribute to our Bicentennial celebration.  Fundraising will continue throughout the year for the legacy project, and money contributed by our sponsors will give us the opportunity to produce world-class events!

Proceeds from the 2026 Bicentennial Events will be used to establish a fund to pay for ongoing improvements to Recreation Park as well as the various pocket parks throughout Galena.  Many of the playgrounds have been upgraded thanks to ongoing efforts by the Kiwanis of Galena, but more is needed and will continue to be needed in the future.

Galena does not have a Park District, so establishing a non-profit fund to help offset the taxpayers' expenses seemed appropriate, and there are currently some projects underway that could use extra funding.
